Ford instrument cluster: repairing your own unit
On many Ford models from 2004 to 2014 (Focus, Fiesta, Kuga, Mondeo, Transit), the PATS immobiliser is built into the Visteon instrument cluster. When the cluster fails, the car refuses to start with the immobiliser light flashing, although the battery is fine. We repair your original cluster: the mileage stays that of your car, and no Ford dealer coding is needed.
Airbag control unit: clearing crash data
After a crash, the airbag control unit stores collision data that locks it: airbag light on, and sometimes the car will not start. We reset your original unit by clearing this data and the stored fault codes. Your unit's part number can be checked on the service page before ordering. Deployed items (airbags, belt pretensioners) must be replaced separately by your garage.
Electric power steering: virginisation
A used electric power steering unit keeps the car it came from in memory and often refuses to be coded to yours. We virginise it: its data is erased so it can be paired to your car with a diagnostic tool.

- On 2004 to 2014 Fords with a Visteon cluster, it is a common cause: the PATS immobiliser is built into the cluster. A faulty key or a weak battery can cause similar symptoms.
