The body control unit is the module that runs the car's comfort electronics: central locking, lighting, wipers, and often the immobiliser. Each manufacturer has its own name for it: BSI at Peugeot, Citroën and DS, UCH at Renault and Dacia, FRM (footwell module) at BMW and MINI. When it fails, symptoms range from random electrical faults to a car that will not start.

BSI and UCH: repair by cloning
On Peugeot, Citroën and DS BSI units and on Renault and Dacia UCH units, Incarline does not repair the electronics component by component: we copy the data from your original unit (immobiliser, key coding, vehicle configuration) to a healthy donor unit with exactly the same part number. The cloned unit is refitted as is, and your original keys are still recognised.
- BSI: Peugeot, Citroën and DS;
- UCH: Renault Clio, Kangoo, Modus, Trafic, Master and first-generation Dacia Logan / Sandero. The part number printed on the label can be checked directly on the service page before ordering.
BMW and MINI FRM: repairing the original module
The FRM module runs the lighting, central locking and wipers on BMW E-series and MINI R-series cars. We repair your original module: it remains your car's own unit and is refitted without coding.
Symptoms of a faulty body control unit
- car refuses to start, immobiliser light on or flashing;
- key, remote or card no longer recognised;
- functions switching on by themselves or not at all: wipers, indicators, lighting, windows;
- headlights staying on or no longer switching on (FRM);
- battery draining while parked.
These symptoms can have other causes, such as a weak battery or a damaged wiring harness. If in doubt, have the car diagnosed before removing the unit.
