What is the FRM module on a BMW?

CCID-231 is the message displayed on the dashboard ("Lighting failure"). In most cases, these codes are caused by the same hardware failure — which our repair permanently corrects.

Why do you mention a "50 detection counter"?

The FRM3 includes a protection: it counts each electrical anomaly detected on its outputs (short circuit, blown bulb, etc.). After 50 cumulative detections, it locks permanently to protect the rest of the harness — this saturation causes severe symptoms. Our repair resets this counter to zero. Important: if your vehicle still has an uncorrected upstream electrical fault (e.g., blown bulb), the counter will resaturate — we therefore advise diagnosing these faults before sending.
