Introduction: role of the engine ECU (ECM)

The engine ECU, often called ECM (Engine Control Module), is the electronic unit that controls the operation of the petrol engine. It collects information from sensors (throttle position, absolute pressure, temperature, lambda, etc.), commands actuators (injectors, coils, actuators) and adjusts in real-time the timing, injection duration, and other parameters to ensure operation consistent with standards and engine strategy.
