This entirely free application simplifies the procedures during the sale, purchase, or registration of a used vehicle.
Available on the App Store and Google Play, it is quite easy to use. Authentication is done via a phone number and a FranceConnect account, which allows for proper verification of the identity of the person connecting through associated accounts (health insurance, MSA, etc.).
Then, you can perform the following operations:
- declare the sale of the vehicle: simply take a photo of the registration certificate, make the sale declaration, and download the transfer certification of the file. This is sent to the buyer;
- declare the purchase of the vehicle: take a photo of your ID card or any other official identity document, review the vehicle's characteristics, and validate the transfer file. Then, declare the purchase and download the transfer certificate;
- apply for a registration certificate: scan a proof of address, add co-holders if necessary, and you will receive your provisional registration certificate in real time. You will receive the new registration certificate within two to three days.
Your application allows you to view your documents and recent transactions at any time and retrieve them whenever you wish.
What is the goal of Simplimmat?
This application was created for two reasons:
- to simplify the procedures during the sale. Declarations are made simultaneously by both parties and in real time before handing over the keys;
- to protect the buyer who can ensure that the vehicle is compliant and that the vehicle transfer declaration is properly completed (vehicle compliance, etc.).
Since 2018, the government has wanted to move in this direction by publishing a site to learn everything about the history of used vehicles.
These tools reassure the buyer and allow the seller to quickly provide reliable information. Thus, the authorities hope to counter scams.
Simplimmat: a test version in three departments
For now, the application is only available in three departments:
- Eure;
- Eure-et-Loir;
- Yvelines.
The goal is to test its interest and effectiveness before a national rollout. Although it is too early to set a date, the first users seem quite satisfied with the application's features.
